Miya Hannan, MFA : Project Founder and Artist

Miya has been professionally working as an artist for the last 12 years. In her native country Japan, she worked for a hospital as a medical professional. This experience has been the source of her art practice. Her care for end of life issues and being an immigrant led this Patria Soli project. Her artwork can be seen at miyahannan.com. Miya is an assistant professor of art at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Jillian Tullis, PhD : Health Communication Specialist 

 

Jillian has personal and professional experience with end of life issues as a hospice volunteer, researcher, and associate professor at the University of San Diego. She is passionate about changing the conversation around dying and death for individuals and healthcare institutions.
